Robert E. Foley
FOLEY, Robert Eliot 82, of Winchester, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family, on April 3, 2018. Born in Cambridge, Bob was a lifelong resident of Massachusetts with the past 46 years in Winchester. He graduated from Newton High School in 1954, and received his Bachelor's in Science and Master's of Engineering Management, both from Northeastern University. He retired from the Raytheon Company in 2013 after 58 years of service, the longest tenured employee in company history at the time of his retirement. During his tenure with Raytheon, Bob worked on the Patriot missile defense program as well as the AEGIS missile guidance program. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Eileen (Greco), his son, Eliot (Ashlyn Hiley) of Concord, NH, and his daughter Suzanne (Brad) Locke of Brentwood, TN. "Grumpy" will be dearly missed by his four grandchildren: Tessa and Davis Foley, and Shea and Claire Locke. He will also be forever missed by his beloved tennis buddies and by his caretaker, Kara McGillicuddy. Services will take place through Lane Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will take place at St. Eulalia's Parish, (50 Ridge Street, Winchester) on April 6, 2018, at 10am. Followed by burial at Wildwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Currey Ingram (6544 Murray Lane, Brentwood, TN 37027), a school for children with learning differences (www.curreyingram.org/page/giving).
