Obituary for Susan M. DiRusso (Ferraro)

DiRusso, Susan "Susie" M. (Ferraro) passed away peacefully at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers on January 1, 2021. She was 68 years old.

Susan was the devoted mother to Derek DiRusso and his wife Tara of Reading and Jonathan DiRusso and his wife Stephanie of Woburn. She was the loving Nonna of Ace, Sonny, and Jonathan David "J.D." DiRusso. She is also survived by her brother Orlando Colleameno & family, sister Angela (Ferraro) LeBeau & family, sisters-in-law Mary Colleameno & family, and Stephanie Colleameno & family.

Susan was predeceased by her beloved parents Philip and Florence Colleameno Ferraro, and brothers Alfred Colleameno and Robert Colleameno.

Susan was born in Somerville and raised and educated in Cambridge. She graduated from Cambridge High and Latin. Susan was a dedicated mother to her children and Nonna to her grandchildren. She loved spending time with them and her many friends. Susan had a career working at FedEx and playing the Nonna in the hit show, "Joey and Maria's Italian Wedding," which played in many venues. She also volunteered to perform in many fundraising shows for the Immaculate Conception Parish, Malden. Her voice was one that could have reached Broadway. It was so professional and that of an angel. Many will miss her sense of humor, love of family and friends, as well as her impressive Italian cooking.

May she rest in peace. Services will remain private. A celebration of Susie's life will be planned and announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Susan's memory may be made to
