Obituary for Samuel M "Bino" Bellino

Samuel Michael “Bino” Bellino Jr. was a caring husband, father, papa, brother, cousin, uncle, and friend. He left this world on Saturday, December 25, 2021, at age 61 after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer. He passed peacefully in his home in Townsend, Massachusetts surrounded by loved ones.

He was born to Samuel and Rita (Egan) Bellino of Winchester, Ma on August 3, 1960, in Arlington Massachusetts. He was the first son, and one of five children.

Starting in the Pop Warner Youth Football league at the age of eight, Sam would spend the next 10 years playing and excelling in the game of football as running back. He would become the co-captain of the Winchester Sachems Football Team in his senior year, graduating from Winchester High School in 1979. On and off the playing field Sam was hard working, determined, and loyal. Childhood companions became steadfast lifelong friends.

Sam had a long 32-year career at Catania Oils of Ayer, Ma, and the last 5 years at the DPW as manager of the transfer station in Winchester. He really came full circle returning to work for the town he grew up in and loved.

His most cherished role was that of husband, father, and papa. He married Colleen Kane of Medford, Ma in 1983, having recently celebrated 38 years of marriage. Together they went on to have three wonderful daughters; Kristalyn, Sarah, and Michelle who were the joy of his life. In 2007 Sam would add the role of "Papa" with the birth of granddaughter Alivia, followed by Ariana, Sophia, and grandson Noah. He was also a loving father-in-law to Christopher Belding and Dr. Kevin Senser.

Sam had a fantastic sense of humor and was an animated storyteller when it came to the colorful anecdotes of his glory days. He enjoyed classic car shows, golfing with the guys, as well as playing in a few men’s softball leagues. He was rarely caught without the sound of music coming from his headphones or stereo speakers and was also known to give loud, but accurate, football coaching from the couch.

Sam was preceded in death by his father Samuel, his mother Rita and his brother Leonard Bellino of Winchester, Ma. He is survived by his wife Colleen of Townsend, Ma; Three daughters, Kristalyn Belding and her husband Christopher of Goffstown, NH; Sarah Senser and her husband Dr. Kevin Senser of Northlake, Tx and Michelle Bellino of Boston, Ma; Four grandchildren, Alivia and Sophia of Northlake, Tx and Ariana and Noah of Goffstown, Nh; Three sisters, Karen Casey and her husband Tom of Lynnfield, Ma; Suzanne Panniello and her husband Wayne of Winchester, Ma and Kim Bellino of North Reading, Ma. He had many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends. Sam will be deeply missed, but we seek comfort in knowing he is without pain or suffering in the kingdom of heaven.

Calling hours will be held at Lane Funeral Home in Winchester, Ma on Tuesday, January 4th, 2022 from 4:00p.m.- 8:00p.m.
Funeral Services will be held at Saint Mary’s Church in Winchester, Ma on Wednesday January 5th, 2022 at 11:00a.m. followed by a burial at Wildwood Cemetery in Winchester, Ma. Masks will be required.
