On Tuesday, March 10, 2020, Olga V. Boskovic, loving mother of Jovan, mother-in-law of Sabrina, and grandmother of Aleksandar, Elena, Maya and Danny, passed away at age 84.
Olga was born on December 7, 1935 in Serbia (former Yugoslavia), to Vojin and Javorka Djordjevic. She was a little girl during Nazi German occupation of Yugoslavia, and remembered in detail being overjoyed to see the liberation of the country in 1945. She received her degree in World Literature in 1958, and worked as editor of all publications in the Yugoslav Association of Power Companies. In 1955, she married Dragutin Boskovic with whom she had her son Jovan. She joined her son in the U.S. in 1995, and stayed here thereafter. Whenever she could, she would visit her old country and her friends and relatives.
Olga will always be remembered by her family and friends as their strong support and inspiration, and as someone whom they could always ask for advice and guidance. She always found pleasure in helping other people, and will be missed by many. She was known for her sharp mind and forward thinking, and for managing every project, no matter how small, to perfection. She was actively involved in activities at her Serbian Orthodox Cathedral St. Sava in Cambridge, MA, and its Circle of Serbian Sisters. She was also a great cook, and was lovingly involved in helping raise her grandchildren.
Olga was preceded in death by her father Vojin in 1982, her husband Dragutin in 1983, and her mother Javorka in 1988. She is survived by her son Jovan and his wife Sabrina, her four grandchildren, and several relatives and cousins.
