Obituary for Lorraine F. "Ginger" Maggio

MAGGIO, Lorraine F. “Ginger” of Winchester, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2023. Beloved wife of the late William G. Maggio and loving mother of Richard and his wife Jody of Tewksbury, Robert and his wife Dawn of SC, Wayne D. and his wife Maria of Manchester by the Sea, and the late William Maggio Jr. and his wife Claudell of CA.

Loving Grandmother (Nana) to 13 Grandchildren: Richard J. Maggio and his wife Jessica of Tewksbury, David Maggio of CA, Ashley L. Sabourin and her husband Andrew of NC, Christopher G. Cunningham and his wife Eva of Lowell, Andrew Maggio of CA, Robert W. Maggio and his wife Sarah of Chelmsford, Ashley A. Beck and her husband Timothy Beck of CO, Michael Maggio of Woburn, Cody Maggio and his wife Kristen of NH, Shawna Hemenway and her husband Daniel of Lynn, Madrina Petino and her husband Gregory of CA, Nicholas Maggio and his wife Liz of Winchester, Julia M. Maggio and her husband Lloyd Pitts of GA and predeceased by her Granddaughter Lorraine Maggio of Woburn. Loving Great Grandmother (Great Nana) to 11 Great Grandchildren: Aiden, Aria and Archer Sabourin of NC, Elizabeth and Emily Maggio of Tewksbury, Shawn & Owen Hemenway of Lynn, Logan Maggio of NH, Cora and Caleb Maggio of Chelmsford, and Zoey J. Maggio of Winchester.

Throughout her life “Ginger’s” greatest love was that of her extended family, only exceeded by the love of her life, her husband “Bill.” During her younger years, while raising her family, Ginger could also be found with Bill supporting the Sons of Italy in Winchester in their charity endeavors as well as participating in their Bowling League and other social activities.

Throughout her life Ginger enjoyed cooking and supporting her husband in their family businesses. In later years Ginger traveled with Bill until his passing in 2010. Following Bill’s passing, she continued to cook, making the best meatballs, chicken wings and fried peppers anywhere! She will be sadly missed by her family, her friends at the SOI and all who knew her.

Visiting hours will be held at the Lane Funeral Home, 760 Main St. (Rte. 38) WINCHESTER on Saturday, February 18 th from 9:30-11:30am. Followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 11:30am.
