In loving memory of Josephine Ann Castelone Rodman

With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Josephine Ann (Castelone) Rodman, a resident of Winchester, who departed this world on October 24, 2023, at the age of 90. Josephine was born on August 9, 1933, in Boston's West End, the cherished daughter of Josephine Martino and Frank Castelone.

Josephine's educational journey was marked by unwavering dedication and academic excellence. She was a proud alumna of Girls High School in Boston, where she demonstrated her commitment to learning from an early age. Following her high school graduation, Josephine continued her educational pursuit at Simmons College, earning her Bachelor Science degree in 1954.

Her true passion lay in the field of social work, and she furthered her studies at the Simmons School of Social Work, achieving her Master of Science in Social Work (M.S.S.W) in 1956. Throughout her career as a Clinical Social Worker at Concord State Prison, where she dedicated herself to working with public offenders, Josephine's compassion and dedication were apparent. She continued in her role until her retirement only a few years ago.

Josephine's professional accomplishments were just one facet of her remarkable character. She was a kind-hearted, caring individual who touched the lives of countless people. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Josephine was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Melvin Rodman. She is survived by her cherished daughters: Lauren D. Gourlay of Brookline and Gail Stanton and her husband Doug. She is also survived by her adoring granddaughter, Dani Stanton of West Townsend and many friends and family who will forever hold her memory close.

Josephine Ann Castelone Rodman's profound contributions to her community and the field of social work will be remembered with deep gratitude respect.

Visiting hours will be held at the Lane Funeral Home, 760 Main St., WINCHESTER on Saturday October 28th from 12-3pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Josephine Ann Castelone Rodman, as a tribute to her enduring spirit of kindness and compassion. May she rest in peace, and may her memory be a beacon of inspiration for all who had the privilege of knowing her.
