Joan Tsakos (Daginis) of Saco, Maine, formerly of Somerville, MA age, 94, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2021, with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late George N. Tsakos. She is survived by her loving sons, Dean G. Tsakos and Nicholas G. Tsakos and his wife, Cheryl, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Drew N. Tsakos and his fiancée, Alexandra Savage, and Dana Tetrault and her husband, Michael. She was the sister of the late Effie Vallas and Charles Zaharris. She also leaves her adoring nieces and nephew - Marlene Williamson, Mauria Falcone, Drake Zaharris, Kimberly Rose and Melissa Vallas - and their families. She was predeceased by her beloved nephew, David Zaharris. Joan’s extended family was always her first priority, and she could always be found in her kitchen, cooking food for everyone. Her home was always open to all. She loved her Greek Orthodox faith and culture, and her country. After being a homemaker for many years, Joan joined the workforce as a sales associate at Lechmere Sales where she excelled. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. A viewing will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at 11:00 AM at the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 29 Central St., Somerville, MA followed by a service at 12:00. Interment will be at Wildwood Cemetery in Winchester, MA.
