Obituary for Frederick M Schultz

On Sunday, February 14, 2021, Frederick M Schultz passed away at Winchester hospital from heart failure, he was 81 years young.

Fred was born on March 17, 1939 in West Bend, Wisconsin to Frederick and Dorothy (Bonerz) Schultz. He received a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin and Master’s degree from Northeastern University in Electrical Engineering. He worked for Raytheon for 30 years, during which time he earned two patents on his inventions. In June 1961 he married Susan Elizabeth Schmitt and they moved to Winchester Massachusetts where they have lived for 60 years and raised their four children, Jane, James, Christine and Thomas.

Fred retired early at 58 to spend time enjoying life with his family. He and Sue travelled to many spots around the world. Fred loved spending time at their Cape Cod home, working outside, watching birds, walking the beach and doing community work with the Dennis Conservation Land Trust. He had a passion for learning new hobbies. He loved drawing, pottery, playing guitar, woodworking, gardening, home renovations, craftsmanship work, and photography. He enjoyed getting together at the local coffee shop with good friends and talking for hours over coffee and crossword puzzles.

Fred’s wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life. The legacy of Fred’s kind spirit, passion for the Boston Patriots, love of reading, and zest for life will live on through them.

Fred is predeceased by his father, Frederick, mother, Dorothy, brother, Robert, sisters, Janet and Susan. He is survived by his wife Susan, his four children, Jane and husband Rafal, James and wife Annie, Christine and husband Marc, Thomas and his former wife Kim, grandchildren, Dylan and fiancé Katie, Sierra and fiancé Michael, Zachary and wife Megan, Savannah and husband Jake, and Eliana, great grandchildren Keller and Cedar. He is also survived by his sister June and husband Neil, brother-in-law Bill and sister-in-law Julie along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
