Obituary for Emily A. Stanziani (Devito)

STANZIANI, Emily A., 87, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2021, with her family by her side. She was predeceased by her husband, Claude Stanziani, her parents, Leone and Maria DeVito and her brother Vincent DeVito. She is survived by her siblings, Eleanor Ottaviano of Waltham, Edith Lamberts (Richard) of Kennebunk, ME, Mary Roach (Martin) of Danvers and Margaret Stephens (Robert) of Winchester and her many nieces and nephews.

Emily was educated in the Cambridge public school system and worked at the John Hancock Life Insurance Co. for 35 years. For many years, Emily was a member of the Jenks Center, Winchester, where she frequently participated in their events. It was there that she first met her two dear friends, Gen and Chris. Emily loved to travel, especially to Sperlonga, Italy, her parents’ hometown. In addition, she enjoyed gardening, dancing, fashion, and the occasional trip to Foxwoods.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial at St. Mary’s Parish, 155 Washington St., WINCHESTER, on Monday, September 20th at 10am. Interment will follow at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, 580 Mt. Auburn St., Cambridge, MA 02138.



In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Ctr., 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38015, or The Italian Home for Children, 1125 Centre Street Jamaica Plain, MA 02130. Emily’s family is very grateful to her personal physician, Dr. Patricia Moyer, Beth Israel Lahey Home Hospice Service and the Mercy Hands Human Service for the love and compassion they have shown Emily and her family.
