Obituary for Elizabeth G "Betty" Ferrina (Giacalone)

Elizabeth “Betty” (Giacalone) Ferrina died peacefully on January 16, 2022 at age 102. Born in Massachusetts on July 14, 1919, she was a loving daughter of the late Virginia (Scaturro) and Francesco Giacalone. Betty was a life-long resident of Winchester and was employed as a switchboard operator at Winchester Hospital for over 30 years. Wife of the late Frank Ferrina. Devoted sister of Domenic Giacalone, Richard Giacalone, and the late Louis Giacalone, Frank Giacalone, Andrew Giacalone, Sarah Cefalo, Joseph Giacalone, Joanne Milano, Vito Giacalone, and Lillian Giacalone. Loving mother of Catherine “Rena” Magee and her late husband John Magee of Naples, FL, Virginia “Ginger” Koretsky and her late husband Dr. Irving Koretsky of Stoneham, MA, Ann Procopio and her late husband John Procopio of Naples, FL, Mary Lou Farnam and her husband John Farnam of Stoneham, MA. Cherished grandmother of Michael and Michelle Magee, Karen and David Allen, Philip Magee, Julie Farnam, Larissa and Russell Luce, Leanna Farnam and Patrick Bassett, Michael Procopio, Daniel and Daniela Procopio, Steven Procopio and Brittney Armstrong. Beloved great-grandmother of eleven great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held at the Lane Funeral Home, 760 Main St, Winchester on Saturday, January 22nd from 9:00-11:30 AM with a funeral mass to be celebrated in St. Mary’s Parish, 155 Washington St, Winchester at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Betty’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-9959. Interment Calvary Cemetery Winchester.
