WINCHESTER – After a long and valiant struggle with cancer, Donna Sciascia, with her family by her side, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday afternoon, August 17, 2021. The beloved wife (45 years) of Joseph C. Sciascia Jr, she was 69 years old.

Born in Woburn on December 5, 1951, Donna was one of two daughters of the late Salvatore and Matilda (Gonsalves) Danca.

She was raised and educated in Woburn and graduated from Woburn High School with the class of 1970. Following high school, Donna worked as an Office Assistant at Entrex Corporation and, for four plus years worked in the Logistic and Parts department at Nixdorf Computer.

In September of 1975, Donna and her high school sweetheart Joe were married. Following the birth of her two children a few years later, Donna settled in as a Mother and Homemaker. In this arena she did her best work ever. She loved to host family gatherings. Over time, she became a wonderful cook and she loved to pass along information and personal recipes to both of her children and her grandson. Donna also very much enjoyed watching her children and grandson performing in sports of all kinds, particularly Soccer and Ice Hockey.

As Donna’s family grew older, they were blessed with the ability to go on trips to various parts of this country. The family especially enjoyed trips together to Western States and National Parks in Wyoming, Montana, Utah, Colorado, and Arizona. After her children became adults, Donna continued traveling with her husband Joe. They both enjoyed visiting Florida and anywhere in the state of Maine.

Donna also very much enjoyed gardening, and her floral skills were on display all over her front and back yards. In the near future, her Hospice nurse Marguerita will be transplanting some flowers from “Donna’s Garden” to her own garden in Salem, MA.

Donna is survived by her husband Joe, of Winchester, and by her two children Lauren Ann, of Winchester, and Brian Joseph, of Dracut. She is also survived by her grandson (and particular favorite) Andrew Joseph, of Winchester.
