Obituary for Donald J. Annino MD

ANNINO, Donald James M.D. of Winchester, peacefully passed away Wednesday November 23, 2022 at the age of 95. Beloved husband of the late Patricia Annino (Connolly) for 62 years and the devoted father of Patricia & her husband Robert Carr of Boston, Donald & his wife Laura Goguen of Wellesley, Kathleen & her husband Timothy Connolly of Westwood, John & his wife Nina of Boca Raton FL, Michael & his wife Kelley of Houston, TX and Stephen & his wife Hilary of Boston. He was predeceased by his parents Anthony and Elvira Annino, sisters Katherine Annino D’Andraia, Dorothy Annino Iseman & brother Anthony Annino. Grandfather of Bridget, Grace, Ava & Sophia.

After graduating from Medford High School, Donald did a tour of duty with the Army in World War II. After he returned from the service, he attended Harvard University and Tufts Medical School. He completed his residency in pediatrics at Boston City Hospital and went on to become Chief Resident of Pediatrics. Donald (with the late Thomas Flaherty MD) established Pediatricians Inc. in Winchester Massachusetts where Donald practiced for over sixty years. During those 60 plus years he was proud of all the physicians and staff who worked with him and their commitment to the patients and the medical community.

He also served as Chairman of Pediatrics at Winchester Hospital and was on staff at Massachusetts General Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital.

Donald will be truly missed by his many loving colleagues, patients, friends and family.

A wake to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, November 29th at Lane Funeral Home, 760 Main St. (Rte. 38) WINCHESTER from 4-7pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, Winchester on Wednesday at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment immediately following Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Late Veteran US Army WWII.
