Obituary for Christian R. Dowling

Born in Boston, Christian was raised in Winchester and was a graduate of the Winchester High School Class of 1992. He then went on to attend Hobart and William Smith College for his undergraduate degree before becoming a trained chef after graduating from culinary school. Christian had a passion for cooking and appreciated all aspects of the cooking industry. He also loved to express his creativity through painting, drawing, sculpting and playing the harmonica. An avid sports fan, Christian excelled at playing sports, he was the starting outside linebacker for the Winchester High School Superbowl Championship team of 1990. He was the Captain of the WHS Lacrosse team in 1992. He also played on the WHS varsity hockey team. When he wasn’t an active participant, he was proud to cheer on his favorite Winchester Sachems. In his free time, he loved being on the water and cruising around Falmouth and Martha’s Vineyard on his boat. He appreciated all genres of music but particularly enjoyed listening to it live with his many friends. He cherished his times when he could get on his motorcycle and ride for hours exploring new areas and restaurants. Christian is survived by his beautiful family, his wife Joanna (Pasciuto) and their children Brooke, Avery and Christian Chase. He was the beloved son of William T. Dowling Jr. and his late wife Roberta of Winchester. Dear son in law of Cosmo and Anna Pasciuto of Gloucester and his brothers in law Carl and his wife Michele of Woburn, Michael and his wife Kimberly of Burlington and the late Paul Pasciuto and his wife Lisa of Lynnfield. Cherished nephew of Susan Stewart and her husband Richard of Brewster, Steven Dowling and his wife Cathy of North Conway, NH, Christopher Stewart of CT, Matthew Stewart of San Francisco, CA, Stephanie Hook of Woburn, and the late Carol Hook. He is also survived by Paul and Jeanne Hook of CA, and John and Elyse Hook of CA and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Visiting hours will be held at the Lane Funeral Home, 760 Main St. (Rte. 38) WINCHESTER on Sunday, September 18th from 2-5pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Eulalia Church, 50 Ridge St., Winchester, on Monday September 19th at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment will be private.
