Anna B. (Dioguardo) Gerardi age 96, of Winchester passed away peacefully on October 30, 2020. Anna was born in Lynn on May 2, 1924 to the late Leonard and Mary (Modini) Dioguardo. She was sister to the late Louis Dioguardo. Anna attended Lynn Public Schools and was a devoted daughter and sister. One of Anna's favorite past times was dancing, and it was dancing where she met the love of her life, the late John L. Gerardi. Anna and John were married on May 20th, 1950. They shortly thereafter made their home in Winchester which is where they raised their family for their remaining years. Anna was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary's Parish. She was an avid bowler and was a member of The Son's of Italy Bowling League. She and her husband loved traveling and together in 1985, were able to visit their families in Italy. Anna was a fabulous cook who willingly shared all her wonderful recipes. Though her expansive spreads on Christmas Eve and Easter were the most memorable, Anna’s heart and home were always open. She always had freshly made meatballs in her refrigerator and cookies in her pantry for when a friend or family member stopped in. Anna cherished the time that she spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her love for life was evident in the way her smile lit up a room.
She will be dearly missed but will live on in our memories and family traditions. She was the loving mother of Patricia Newhall and her husband Jack of Winchester, Maureen Walsh and her husband David of Billerica, Frank Gerardi and his wife Suzelle of Wakefield, and Janice Brock and her husband Raymond of Londonderry, NH. She was the cherished grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 13 lucky great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Anna's family would like to thank her private caregivers, MaryLee and Terri, for their warmth, kindness and the outstanding care that they provided over the past year.
